Monday Freebie. Photo and Information Survivability tips, FREE standard version download

Thanks for taking some time out of your day to visit my blog. I hope you feel some kind of inspiration about doing some type of family history.

Today I wanted to share some valuable information from the Heritage Collector Newsletter. Our newsletters contain information to help on your journey to share and preserve those precious memories.

This newsletter focuses on a very critical issue – making sure your photos and information survive into the future which could be next week or a hundred years from now.

There's no need to stress about buying more software or struggling with some new backup program. Heritage Collector software has everything you need.

Suggestions and simple things you should do now.

Monday freebie!

Here is an adorable quick page freebie that works great with heritage Collector storybook.

Here's how it works.

First download the file, unzip the folder (or extract your file) create a new collection in Heritage Collector, then import these 4 pages into your newly created collection. If you don't have Heritage Collector, download the free standard version here. The standard version is a great way to help you get organized and get started.

Once you have the pages imported you can then go on and create your storybook!

These pages are so much fun because all you have to do is drag your photos over and "move to back", add some text and you have an adorable page!

Just a fun page I finished for my twins.

I have been under a lot of stress lately. With the responsibility's of being a momma of four beautiful children I do feel pretty overwhelmed at times. When I discovered digital scrap booking a few years ago, it truly helped me through some tough times. :)

If you are just starting out in the digital scrap booking world. I offer and teach free classes to help you get started. One of my passions is helping YOU find your hidden interest for scrapping and preserving those precious moments that happen in your life. Watch my blog for some upcoming free online classes.

I love feedback! If you have something you would like me to cover at a future class, leave me a comment here.

This is a hobby I truly feel edified from! Come and join me!

Saturday Freebie! Things that matter most.

I hope that you had a great Valentines day. I know I did. I was able to do some fun activites with my kids. They really made the holiday fun!

Krista has another freebie for you! This is the perfect mini kit to scrap those newly created Valentine memories!

And of course, this kit works great with Heritage Collector Storybook and Calendar modules. If you need a little refresher on how to import graphics, (its the same process as importing photos) Check out our "How to" tutorials on importing photos. You can watch a short movie that will walk you through the basic steps.

Download the mini kit here.

Visit Krista's shop here.

Friday morning I woke up feeling a little overwhelmed by my list of  "to do's". I wasn't sure how I was going to fit it all in.

After I took my kindergartener to school, I was in my kitchen chasing my twins around.. As they were unloading my tupper ware drawer they moved on to another drawer where I store my bottle rings for canning. They completly unloaded that drawer too. I looked around at the mess all over my kitchen. I couldn't help but sit down on the floor and join in the fun with my twin boys and 3 year old daughter.  We built bottle ring towers, made hats out of tupper ware and chased each other.

When the time approached to go pick up my son from school (an hour and half after I dropped him off) I thought to myself my son needs to play with us too! Somehow my list of "to do"s didn't seem so important anymore.

After I brought my son home, we decided to have a "Caveman breakfast".

We piled up blankets all over the table and chairs. My kids were in heaven!

I made some waffles and my children carefully put their place mats under the table where they set their plates, silverware, and sippy cup of milk.

My children were so happy and excited to have breakfast in their proudly made "caveman cave".

A tender moment caught on camera as my children get ready to pray over their food.

Eating their delicious breakfast.

This ended up being the most important thing I did on Friday. And it wasn't even on my "to do" list! I never thought a messy kitchen could be so much fun.

I think we will make this a Friday morning tradition.

Having Heritage Collector is such a blessing to me. Being able to organize, preserve and share these precious memories is priceless!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! See you soon.

Personalized Kids Valentines. A fun project for the mom and the kids!

I can't believe we are starting a new week and that Valentines Day is tommorrow! At least I can breathe a sigh of relief as my children's valentines are now done. Wahoo!

I did have fun making them though. The reason I decided to make my own instead of purchase from the store, is the fun interaction I had with my kids as we created them.

I took a turn with each child alone. They sat next to me on the computer and told me just what they wanted. These are their very own creations!

This was really a pretty simple project because of the simplicity of Heritage Collector Storybook. Each one only took about 10-20 minutes to create. Then printed right from home on card stock.

Used a hole punch for a place to poke a sucker through and.... presto! Project done! Didn't even cost that much maybe
.15 cents or less for each one.

My kids favorite part was placing the suckers in the holes on the paper. Mommy wasn't allowed to do that! That's the kids job. I'm smililing of course as I say that.  :)

Here you go! Project Valentine complete!

Friday Freebie! Reason's why I love you book.

Another busy week is coming to a close. Since my schedule wasn't too busy I was able to finish some of my projects I've been promising to share with you.

First, I have a really fun FREE graphics kit I would like to share with you from Designs by Krista! What a fun kit to help you create those perfect Valentines!

Download from Krista's blog here.

See more talent from Krista here.

I wish I could take full credit for this idea. Though it was altered with my taste and format, I got the original idea from, you guessed it, Pinterest!

I wanted to give my husband something very special this year for Valentine's day. Something that he wouldn't just look at once give me a hug and stick it in the bottom of his drawer.
This is a 4x4 photo book with a metal ring holding it all together. 15 reason's why I love you.

The first thing I did was find 15 pictures. This was a very easy step because I import all of my photos into Heritage Collector directly off my camera card.

Once I had my pictures in order, than I was able to make my list of why I love you's to match with the picture.

I then was able to purchase a very inexpensive graphics kit from Designs by Krista. "Cheeky". Only cost $1.00.

Once the newly purchased graphics kit was imported into Heritage Collector, I was now ready to start creating my pages.

I made these in a 4x4 size.

When the pages were created I put them on a 12 x 12 page in a new Storybook ( 4 to a 12 x12 page)  exported to Costo, printed on photo paper with a Matte finish.

I cut out the pages glued them to a very thin piece of card board then put a Modge Podge finish over the top for some nice texture.

Your probably looking at this picture thinking what happened here? I wanted to show you this so when you make this and you sweep a coat of Modge Podge over the top, yes this look is normal. As you could see in the top photo it drys clear.

I turned them over put a finish on the back, punched a hole in the corner with a regular hole punch, put the pages in order, the project is complete.

Now you have a fun project to give someone in your family! This was really easy because I had everything I needed imported in to Heritage Collector. Then Storybook gave me the tools to create this cute book.

I was inspired to make this next  page because I am so busy. Sometimes I feel like because I am so busy, I can't get anything done.

8x10 sheet printed right from home.

As many of you who know me know I have four very young children. Two of which are one year old twin boys.

At the beginning of each day before my children wake up I feel out this chart and place it in a three ring binder. Or you could also put this under a glass frame and write on it with a dry erase marker.

As the day goes on I can see that I can get things done and I do have extra time. I just needed to write my schedule down to help me achieve what I need to get done.

I made this in Heritage Collector Storybook. Only took me about 20 or so minutes to make.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Please feel free to send my your comments. I love to hear from you. I also like to hear feedback on topics for future free online classes.

Grandparent Family History Valentine.

Well, It's the beginning of a fresh new week. So far, I have been able to work on some projects that have been haunting me for the past few weeks.

About a month ago I had a family member ask me if I could create a Valentine grandparents could giveaway. I thought about it for a moment. I thought to myself, that would be a wonderful idea.

Being the simple scrapper that I am I decided that when I made this valentine I really wanted the precious photo that I used to be the main focus of the card.

I purchased a very inexpensive kit of graphics just released from Designs by Krista. "All My Heart". It was only $1.00 and works wonderfully with Heritage Collector Storybook.

You can purchase the kit of graphics here.

This 4x6 photo Family History Valentine card was so easy and FUN to make! I had this complete in about 20 minutes. Because I used such a precious photo, this card will not be thrown away after Valentine's Day. This will most likely be filed away and cherished for many years to come.
This card will be available to purchase as a part of our Heritage Collector Storybook card templates collection. Just keep an eye on our website for it's release!

Thanks for taking some time out of your day to visit my blog and read this! I hope you feel excited about creating your precious valentine cards!
